Trimethylglycine, referred to as TMG, is a naturally occurring compound that’s present in a variety of foods including beets, spinach, and whole grains. Beyond its dietary sources, TMG is also available in supplement form. TMG supplements have captured the attention of health enthusiasts, as its versatile properties can enhance well-being and promote overall health.
TMG is a molecule that comes from the amino acid glycine and is important for various bodily functions. One of TMG supplements health benefits is produced from TMG helping with a process called methylation. Methylation influences gene expression, fixes cells, and removes harmful toxins in the body. TMG supplements have also been found to have anti-inflammatory properties, improve heart health, enhance cognitive function, and promote liver health too.
One of the standout TMG supplement health benefits is improving heart health. One important thing TMG supplement does is helps keep a substance called homocysteine at the right level in your blood. Homocysteine is a type of amino acid, that’s essentially a building block of proteins in the body. Having too much of it can be bad for your health, especially for your heart. So, by using TMG, you might be able to keep your heart in better shape.
Research into TMG supplement health benefits found that although alcohol can harm the liver by causing changes in liver cells, like building up fat droplets; when TMG (also known as betaine) is taken, these harmful effects are lessened. Alcohol also increases certain proteins that make fat, but betaine helps keep these levels closer to normal. Alcohol also affects how the liver controls genes and proteins related to fat and energy, and betaine helps maintain their normal activity.
Overall, betaine shields the liver from alcohol's harmful effects by helping manage fats and energy better, reducing cell changes, and maintaining proper gene and protein activity. What’s more TMG supplements have also been found to help reduce non-alcoholic steatohepatitis - this is an advanced form of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
TMG supplement health benefits also include supporting the brain's functions, like memory, focus, and problem-solving. This is done through various mechanisms. TMG supplements help in the production of important brain chemicals, like neurotransmitters, which are crucial for effective communication between brain cells. Additionally, TMG plays a role in protecting brain cells from stress and supporting overall brain health.
TMG supplement health benefits also extend as far as improving physical health. One study assessed 2 groups of healthy males, one group took Pure TMG supplements and one did not. Within testing participants had to perform a vertical jump, a bench press and a squat at 90% of the person's 1 rep max, and as many reps as possible with 75% of their 1 rep max on bench press and squats too. As well, on day 2 participants performed two 30-sec Wingate anaerobic power tests (WAnT), each test separated by a 5-min active rest.
It was found that those that took TMG supplements performed significantly greater in the AMRAP squat exercise than those who didn’t, and they also performed better in the bench press at 90% of their 1 rep max too than those who didn’t take TMG. This shows that TMG supplements can improve muscle endurance.
Another study surrounding TMG supplements aimed to explore the effects of six-week betaine supplementation on body composition and performance in experienced strength-trained men. Divided into placebo and betaine groups, participants followed a structured training program, with the betaine group showing significant improvements in arm size and bench press work capacity. Although no significant differences emerged in performance variables - except for a trend in increased vertical jump power, the findings suggest that betaine supplementation could be beneficial for body composition and certain aspects of performance in this population.
TMG is considered safe when it’s used in doses of 15 grams or less a day. With that being said most studies on TMG have studied Pure TMG supplements at 500-9,000 mg per day.
DoNotAge.org's Pure TMG Supplement not only elevates your overall well-being but also offers targeted TMG supplement health benefits. By safeguarding your liver, it actively shields this vital organ from harm, promoting its optimal functioning. As well as this, with DoNotAge.org’s TMG supplement you’re guaranteed purity that you can’t get anywhere else. Our supplements are the purest on the market, such as our NAD booster at 99.8% purity! At DoNotAge.org we guarantee the purity and quality of your ingredients to your door no matter where you live.
As well as all the great benefits mentioned, DoNotAge.org’s TMG supplement can also help to reduce the risk of dementia.
A study into TMG supplement health benefits found that TMG improved memory problems caused by blood flow restrictions to the brain. Betaine also helped in maintaining the proper functioning of connections between nerve cells in the brain by restoring the levels of certain proteins. Additionally, betaine reduced harmful chemical reactions caused by stress in the brain and increased the levels of protective substances.
Using TMG and NAD boosters could pave the way for a successful approach to improving health. While TMG plays a pivotal role in facilitating methylation processes, the other compound is recognised for its emphasis on bolstering cellular energy generation.
TMG helps NAD boosters work better by providing a favourable environment within our cells. This gives you more NAD to further enhance energy levels and overall health.
TMG supplements offer an array of health benefits, making them a versatile and beneficial option for heart health, athletic performance and more. Its impact on heart health and cognitive function highlights its potential to contribute to overall wellness. TMG also increases NAD levels in your body to improve overall health, heighten energy levels and promote anti-ageing.
